Tady poprosím Jabu, aby dokumentoval na co přišel.

Úkoly:
- nabootovat přes iSCSI do Windows a tuto instalaci spustit v KVM a obráceně
- vytvořit šablony Windows a ukázat co všechno změní SYSPREP

Takže první krok je nabootovat z iSCSI do windows
základní instalace na bezdiskový stroj je přes F6, s disketou od intelu která nainstaluje "Startup driver" který se tváří jako SCSI řadič.

Oficiální postup je pak takový, že se do windows nahraje ovladač na síťovku, ten port, na kterém je připojený iscsi disk je nepřístupný. Je proto potřeba nakonfigurovat ještě jeden port pro přístup na iscsi, pak nainstalovat microsoft iscsi initiator boot version, který se dá stáhnout akorát z http://connect.microsoft.com. Invitation Code: ms-8RR8-6K43.
při instalaci vybrat síťovku (port) na kterém je nakonfigurovaný přístup na iscsi disk. Po restartu by si měl initiator sam stahnot data z BIOSu sitovky a nastavit si pripojeni a pripojit disk. Overi se to v zalozce Targets, kde musi byt videt "Connected".

Pak je mozne pres utilitu iSCSIApp od intelu odinstalovat Startup driver, po restartu windows nabootuji už přes iSCSI initiator a je možné doinstalovat NIC ovladač na síťovku která původně byla nepřístupná. Pak je možné odpojit ten druhý port a bootuje se z jednoho portu, tak jak to má být

Installing Windows 2003 without a Local Disk

NOTE: An F6 installation requires two or more ports; either a multi-port adapter or two or more separate single port adapters.

1. Copy iSSetup.sys, iSSetup.inf and txtsetup.oem files from the Intel iSCSI Boot Media to a floppy Disk.

2. Start the system and boot from the Windows Server 2003 Installation CD.

3. When prompted "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID Driver..." Press F6. The option to press F6 is available in the very start of OS Installation process and is easy to miss. If you miss the Hit F6, restart the system and OS installation again.

4. When prompted to install third party storage Device press <s>, press <s> and select "Intel(R) PRO/1000 iSCSI Setup Driver".

5. Press Enter and continue to complete the OS Installation.

6. Install Network Driver for Intel PRO/1000 adapters. You must install the driver via Device Manager and not via SetupBD or the "Install Drivers" button in Autorun which will use SetupBD. You will not be able to install the Network driver for the Network port that is being used by the iSSetup driver, so install the network Driver for other Network port.

7. Install the KB902113 NDIS QFE and reboot the system.

8. Install Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator version 2 with integrated software boot support (není volně ke stažení, ale je pouze po registraci u MS). During installation when prompted select Intel iSCSI Boot-capable PRO/1000 adapter as a Boot Device. Intel PRO/1000 adapter is identified as "e1express" during the installation. Select MPIO Multipath support when more then one network ports are available for iSCSI Boot.

9. Reboot and confirm the remote disk is accessible and configurable in Windows Disk Management MMC. Note that you don't need to configure Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator for Windows to be able to detect the iSCSI Disk. Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator automatically retrieves the iSCSI configurations from the PRO/1000 adapter iSCSI Boot firmware.

10. Reboot the system and make sure that Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator is loaded and connected to iSCSI target.

11. Run the iSCSIApp to uninstall the Intel(R) PRO/1000 iSCSI Setup Driver.

12. Reboot the system.

13. Install Network driver for the port that was being used by Intel(R) PRO/1000 iSCSI Setup Driver.

14. Run iscsibcg.exe with /verify and /fix command line parameters.

15. System is now ready for Windows iSCSI boot.
